This is great information! I think it is too easy to neglect some of these other important areas. I'd also recommend traveling to educate homeschooled children. You don't need a rigid itinerary or an "educational" destination for it to be a learning experience. Simple exposure to new places and cultures is significant. I have an article on homeschooling while traveling.

I just discovered your site! My kids aren't school-aged yet, but I will follow your articles. I'll also add a link to your site from my travel homeschooling article.
