For Homeschool Language Arts – Free Worksheets and Games

Trying to find workbooks that are customized to a specific student's or teacher's need can be difficult, and purchasing workbooks can be costly. Fortunately for homeschool families, at the Personal Education Press website Educationalpress.org, homeschooling teachers can create their own customized flash cards, bingo boards, fun-shaped word scrambles, and more. It's fast and easy: just create and print.

Free Reading Skills Books for Homeschool Teachers

Stephen Schutz had so much trouble learning to read that he was still a struggling reader at age 9. To help kids who have trouble with reading, Schutz created Starfall.com, an innovative and highly appealing website where homeschool teachers, classroom teachers, and parents of struggling readers can download and copy learning-to-read books for grades K-2.

Free books are only the beginning at this unique website: kids can watch movies, hear songs, play games, read online books (which highlight the words as they read themselves), download activities, and more all while learning fundamental reading skills. Kids learn to read through play. Readers are rewarded for their achievements by gaining access to higher levels with progressively more engaging games.

Free Algebra-Teaching Software for Homeschool Teachers

Some kinds of math are hard to learn from a book and are harder to teach from a wipe-off board. The University of Arizona is here to help with an invitation for homeschool teachers and classroom teachers to download its math software for free. The software features interactive demonstrations, logic games, and student review assessments.

Instead of creating one all-encompassing math software program that would take hours to learn to use, U of A created individual math module “packages.” Each package is designed to perform a specific function very well and can be used with minimal or no training. This is an excellent resource for homeschooling teachers who are a bit rusty when teaching higher mathematics.
