Teaching your children math doesn't have to require huge textbooks, boring school lessons or a mathematics degree. Here are several free math and home school internet resources for teaching your children math at several levels from basic math and counting to geometry and algebra.

  • Basic Mathematics Resources on the Internet

Multiplication Table Interactive

When math students put in a multiplication problem they SEE the answer, not just the numbers of the answers. A very visual way to help children understand the mathematics principles behind mathematics.

Rick's Math Web

Designed by a homeschooling father and math educator, this website contains many math problems from basic math principles to pre-algebra and will serve as a guide for home school parents looking for free math resources.

Algebra Online Website

A great website for teaching home schooled children about algebra because this free resource not only includes a message board to ask algebra questions, but also live chat and free tutoring if your math student is struggling with a certain algebra concept!

The Pink Monkey site allows homeschooling parents free access to full-length textbooks by visiting the “Study Guide” section. Find the algebra textbook to help stay on track with your student's mathematics education plan.

Rick's Math Site listed above includes links to other math resources including this helpful site for printing out your own graph paper. Select the grid size and configuration of the graph paper you need and this website will create it for you in an easy-to-print format. Also has graph paper with dots and other grids.

Geometry through Art

A very interesting website for teaching the basics of geometry mathematics beginning in elementary school! Not only the principle behind letting children draw themselves through a math education, but also lots of printable resources and worksheets. Hands on activities start simple for Kindergarten children and progress through to advance geometry for high school students.
