Note: Parents please feel free to print this page as a resource. How Does an Apple Grow?Apples grow all year. They are harvested (ready to be picked) in the autumn. Here is their life cycle during all seasons: Winter: Trees are pruned so apples will grow. Pruning is the process of cutting off dead branches roots from trees. Spring: This is when the apple tree will start to bloom and marks the beginning of the growing process. Summer: More pruning takes place during this season. The apples can be seen and need enough water to maintain them through the hot weather. Some apples may even be ready for harvesting during late summer. Fall: Apples are picked, packed, and sent off to grocery stores, produce stands, and other places to be sold to customers. Workers do their best to ship off only the good apples, as they are hand-picked. Recommended Reading
